About

Teens Give Back is a co-ed, non-profit parent and teen volunteer organization which serves more than 20 different philanthropies in the greater San Antonio community. TGB strives to foster strong relationships between teens, parents, peers, and classmates while simultaneously providing leadership opportunities. Membership is open to any high school student in grades 9-12 and at least one parent who seek to promote charitable endeavors to the underserved and underprivileged in our local community. The membership period runs from August 1- September 15 annually, during which time a form will be available on our website. TGB prides itself in being an inclusive organization with regards to membership and we honor the principles that any individual who seeks to serve in his or her community should have the channels to do so without an selection process. As a result, we typical have more than 100 volunteers who represent several different high schools throughout San Antonio.

TGB has easy online sign up with volunteer opportunities with our many different philanthropies. Parents may, but are not required to, become an “Ambassador” for any approved philanthropy and will coordinate volunteer days with that charity. Any parent or teen with a new philanthropy idea or connection can approach the group to initiate a connection. We must have a parent volunteer to be an ambassador or point of contact between TGB and the philanthropy. Teens may apply for a Teen Ambassador position to assist the parent ambassador. All ideas are welcome and highly encouraged, but we do need to establish a parent as an ambassador for each one.Teens Give Back is a certifying organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Our volunteers with service hours meeting the criteria for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award or PVSA, can apply for official recognition. We require that your required TGB volunteer hours must be fulfilled through our calendar activities, but after that, PVSA hours may be earned through qualifying charities of your choice.
